Glazing
Rear door to be fitted with standard rear door glasses and are to be striped with double shadowlite glazing film (150mm Band Width x 25mm Clear).

Saloon glazing panels are to be provided in the following positions.

 Fixed glass nearside side sliding door

Fixed glass nearside centre body panel

Fixed glass offside centre body panel

All windows are to be profiled to suit the sweep of the body and are to be direct bonded

All windows are to be fitted with double shadowlite, self adhesive glazing film.

Spring loaded cassette blinds are to be fitted to all saloon windows, including rear door and bulkhead glazing panels. Black cassette and material lowered to one position

 Switching and Control System

The switching and control system to be supplied is the Carnation as fitted to the vehicle inspected and photo’s supplied.  The system is designed to control all auxiliary functions on the vehicle along with the battery management on the vehicle.

Emergency Beacons
Premier Hazard Lighting and siren system to be fitted

·        The Front lightbar is to be 54” in length and comprise of the following:

6 x Blue Optic LED units

Illuminated "AMBULANCE" sign, side light activated

·        Located on the front grille is to be a pair of Blue LED light heads

·        2 x LED wing intersector lamps

The vehicle headlamps are to be fitted with an electronic headlamp flasher unit.

·        The Rear lightbar is to be 54”and to include

4 x Blue Optic LED lamps

2 x Red halogen Alternating lamps

High level Stop/Tail/Indicator lamps

A Premier Hazard 7044-12-GB 35 siren unit, complete with a speaker is to be mounted within the confines of the offside front bumper moulding, and to be controlled through the vehicle horn

Scene lights are provided to both the nearside and offside of the vehicle.

Saloon Linings

The internal sidewalls and roof of the saloon are to be fully lined with GRP mouldings. All panels to be supplied white in colour 

The cavity between the body and the interior linings is to be fully insulated

The existing body structure will be reinforced to enable the fixture of any necessary equipment fitted to the vehicles  

All body panel joints will be finished using aluminium extrusions as required.

A full height partition is to be fitted between the drivers and patient compartments. This is to be constructed from a steel box section frame panel with wipe clean panels and is to positioned as to allow adequate articulation of the drivers seat. To the centre of the bulkhead is to be fitted a toughened safety glass viewing window.

Saloon Floor

The floor of the patient’s compartment is to be manufacture from 12mm Birch combination plywood and is to be overlaid with non slip resistant vinyl.

The side floor threshold is fitted with "Tiger Stripe" high visibility edging extrusions.

The rear floor threshold is fitted with high visibility edging extrusions edges will be coved and fully sealed against water ingress.

Secured to the floor by spreader plates will be 4 Unwin Solo studs providing anchor points for wheelchair restraints. Integral wheelchair restraints and 3 point combined wheelchair & occupant restraints will be provided.

 Electrically Operated Wedge Ramp

An electrically operated wedge access ramp is to be mounted centrally within the rear door aperture. It will minimize the loading effort of the attendant whilst loading patients on stretcher trolleys and / or carrying chairs / wheelchairs.

The motor assembly is to be fitted with a current limiter, designed manual override to allow emergency operation. Ramp supplied to be Lateral Designs. A Gliderite lowering suspension

The ramp will provide a gradient of approx. 13°.

The ramp platform is fitted with non-slip material and high visibility markings to aid patient transfer in poor lighting conditions.

Controls for the ramp and lowering suspension will be located on the rear nearside-side door. 

Heating & Ventilation

The patient’s compartment is heated by the use of an Eberspacher D4L"C" combustion heater. This is to be located to the nearside front of the saloon. The heater outlet is to be located to the front of the saloon.

A 500 x 350mm Happich roof ventilator is fitted to the forward section of the roof panel.

An electrically powered intake / extract ventilator is fitted to the rear section of the roof panel.

An extract ventilator is fitted to the offside front of the vehicle, directly below the rearward facing attendants seat. This extract ventilator is to exhaust analgesic gases directly through the vehicle floor to atmosphere. 

Seating

Our proposal would be to fit if acceptable a single tip up rearward facing seat at the head of the trolley. This seat to be fitted with a 3-point lap& diagonal belt

A 425mm Jany 862 seat is situated to the nearside centre of the saloon.

Recline mechanism

A rearward facing folding attendants seat is to be located to the offside front of the saloon, at the head end of the stretcher. This is not a transit seat and is only for the close monitoring and/or intubation of patients when the vehicle is stationary.

An M1, 450mm Plica tip & fold seat is to be provided forward of the nearside rear wheelbox. The specification of the seat will be thus:

Stretcher Trolley

The mounting of a Falcon 6 stretcher is provided to the offside of the patients' compartment, forward of the wheel arch. The stretcher is to be mounted within the vehicle using a floor mounted Ferno 2 part CEN compliant locking device. 

Saloon Lighting

The patient’s compartment is illuminated using 5 off FL120 fluorescent lamps. These can be operated from either the cab or saloon and have 50% dim facility. They are fitted with opal diffusers and are recessed into the saloon headlining panel.

The saloon lights will automatically switch on at 50% power for three minutes when a side or rear door is opened.

Mounted equidistant under the cantrail locker, above the stretcher trolley, are to be 3off halogen spotlights. These are to be independently switched from the main, attendants switch console.

A trauma lamp is mounted on the centre line of the headlining panel, adjacent to the stretcher.

Oxygen

A twin outlet oxygen pipeline is to be provided to the offside of the vehicle. The first outlet is located approx. mid way down the length of the saloon, the second is mounted to the offside front of the saloon.

The pipeline is to be supplied with oxygen regulator, flowmeters, cylinder key and test certificate.

Secure anchorage for 1 "HX" size oxygen cylinder, is provided to the offside rear of the saloon.

Storage for 2off "D" sized oxygen cylinders is provided within the offside rear vertical locker.

Bulkhead Lockers

A full width locker is to be provided in the area above the drivers cab. It is to be fitted with a single door which will open upwards and be supported in the open position by the use of a friction hinges.

A waist high cabinet is to be situated to the nearside of the bulkhead. It is designed so as to incorporate the following items:

Eberspacher heater

Both lockers are constructed using anodized aluminium extrusions and Formica faced laminated plywood.

 Cantrail Locker

A full length cantrail locker is situated to the offside of the vehicle. It is manufactured using aluminium extrusions and veka abs panels.

The locker has 4 compartments fitted with individual doors. The rearmost opening is double size to facilitate the safe storage of longer items such as splints. The doors open upwards and are held in the open position by friction hinges.

All doors are fitted with high quality recessed catches, one of which is lockable for added security

A bump pad is fitted to the underside of the locker, trimmed in Ambla textile to complement the saloon.

A grab rail is fitted to the roof section front face of the locker. The handle is approx 2660mm long and powder coated DPTAC Yellow.

Nearside Rear Locker

A full height locker is situated to the nearside rear of the patients' compartment. It is manufactured using anodized aluminium extrusions and Veka panels.

The upper half of the locker has three equally spaced compartments, which are fitted with individual doors.

All doors are fitted with high quality recessed catches.

Between the locker space and the top of the nearside wheel box, is to be an area for storage. The dimensions of this arrangement to be as photo’s supplied by customer and to be confirmed at pre production meeting

To the rear of the locker is secure storage for a scoop stretcher.

Offside Rear Locker

A full height locker is constructed to the offside rear of the saloon, as an integral part of the    cantrail locker

The locker has four equally spaced compartments, which are fitted with individual doors.

All doors are fitted with high quality recessed catches.

To the rear of the locker is to be a mounting bracket for an "HX" sized oxygen cylinder.

Auxilliary Equipment

A grab handle is to be provided on the leading edge of the cantrail locker.

Grab handles are to be located to both sides of the rear door aperture these to be powder coated yellow

A foamed grab handle to the N/S "C" pillar.

Secure anchorage for a spinal board to the O/S saloon wall

A towel dispenser is to be provided, positioned to be agreed

A waste bin is to be provided, position to be agreed

A dry wipe memo board is located to the nearside rear of the saloon position to be agreed

A 810mm length of IV rail is fitted to the roof lining, above the stretcher. It is supplied with a double bottle holder hook assembly.

One 2.0litre A.F.F.F. fire extinguishers fitted in the rear of the vehicle.

One 2.0litre A.F.F.F. fire extinguishers fitted in the cab of the vehicle.

Bump pads are provided above all door apertures.

A map light is to be provided, Position to be determined

A cab/saloon intercom is to be provided

A reverse alarm with night silent facility is to be provided

A sharps bin is provided, position to be confirmed.

One restraint fitted to the drivers side of the bulkhead partition, for the storage of protective a helmets.

Two A4 document holders fitted to the O/S of the saloon area. Final position to be agreed

Laerdal LSU and CEN compliant bracket adjacent to attendants seat. Positioned as supplied photos to the offside wall adjacent to the head of the stretcher

Time Management Clock, fitted to O/S front window infill panel.

Life hammer fitted to front of cab area.

Hand Sanitizer dispenser fitted to saloon side of bulkhead partition.

Ferno Mk2 Compact Carry chair to be supplied with CEN compliant securing bracket to the inside face of the N/S rear door.
